Doubts About Mammograms
Debate over the benefit of mammograms continues. This article reviews a recent study of 90,000 women over 25 years to determine if early detection of breast cancer reduced death rate. In short, the article says the answer is no. For women, it’s disconcerting to know there isn’t a reliable evaluation for breast cancer. Although there are alternative screening methods, they have problems as well. Perhaps the best measure (as always) is prevention. Ridding the body of toxins which prevent the body from functioning normally and balancing hormones is a good start, but we also need to consider genetic predisposition, lifestyle, and bio-individuality to determine the best approach for each person.
