What is Integrative Medicine?Integrative Medicine at Restorative Health involves practitioners trained in different therapeutic modalities combining their skills in a synergistic fashion to create a comprehensive integrative treatment plan.Your integrative visit begins with an extensive questionnaire designed to give us important information about your past medical history. You will also need to obtain past medical records and diagnostic studies from your other doctors. In addition, a detailed chronology of your health history is requested. After Doctors Safayan and Threlkel have carefully reviewed your records and done a thorough physical examination, they will outline their findings and, with your input, develop a treatment plan tailored to your needs. You can expect to spend 2-4 hours with the doctors and then receive a detailed written summary of everything that takes place. Your involvement in the process from start to finish is crucial to its success. Will Insurance Cover My Visit?Dr Safayan participates in the PPO network of most major insurance companies as a provider of internal medicine. Some HMO and POS plans also offer "out of network benefits", the details of which vary greatly. You can find some basic information about the different types of health plans here http://www.agencyinfo.net/iv/medical/types/hmo-ppo-pos.htm. Please contact your insurance company or plan manager to find out what is and is not covered.Dr. Safayan is not a participating provider with any insurance companies for acupuncture; full payment is required at the time of service. We will, upon request, provide you with a superbill, which you may then submit to your insurance company; many insurance policies reimburse some of our services such as acupuncture and naturopathic medicine. Currently, insurance companies do not cover integrative medicine, prolotherapy, or allergy elimination. Payment is required at the time of service. Consequently, Restorative Health does not provide a superbill with diagnostic and procedural codes for these services; we will, however, provide a receipt for the office visit. In many cases, a flexible spending account may be used to cover some or all of the integrative medical services. Your plan manager can explain what is and is not covered in your flexible spending plan. Integrative medical care does not replace the need for a primary care physician. You must maintain an on-going relationship with a primary care physician. If specialty labs are required, it is the patient's responsibility to contact their insurance company regarding coverage. It is the patient's responsibility to pay the laboratory directly. Our office will not be involved with laboratory payment or insurance reimbursement. What do my Lab results mean? The following Laboratory tests are ordered at Restorative Health either as part of a routine physical examination or as specialty labs for specific problems.
